Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán has been named as a key target for Paris Saint-Germain as they look to bolster their attack.

Villa's Colombian gem has been attracting attention from across the Premier League and Europe after starting the season with 12 goals and recently displacing England international Ollie Watkins in Unai Emery's starting 11. Durán has bagged the goals despite only starting six games in all competitions this season, with half coming from substitute appearances. His most recent strike was to open the scoring at Villa Park on Saturday in Villa's 2-1 win over reigning champions Manchester City.

According to Fichajes, French champions PSG may have initiated contact with the Villans over a potential swap deal and significant cash sum for the 21-year-old. Included in the deal is French forward Randal Kolo Muani who moved to Paris in the summer of 2023 but has struggled to make an impact since his arrival.

Kolo Muani joined for an initial hefty fee of €80 million after a standout season with German side Eintracht Frankfurt but could only manage nine goals and six assists in 40 games across his first season with the Parisians. He has managed just two goals and one assist so far this campaign and has not been included in the previous two Ligue 1 matches, the likes of Ousmane Dembélé and Portuguese forward Gonçalo Ramos preferred over him. The 26-year-old's situation in the French capital has been described as 'irreversible' and a move away could help revive his career.

On the other hand, Durán has been excellent for Villa and was rewarded with a new long-term contract in October which would keep him at Villa Park until 2030. There has still been interest though, with Napoli recently linked and now PSG reportedly in for his signature.

A swap for the two would be a good deal for PSG; maybe not so for the Villans. Due to the long contract and poor form of the proposed swap player, Monchi and the Villa hierarchy would likely demand a hefty fee on top of any potential trade. The West Midlands side will not accept a simple swap for the two.

Both clubs are apparently 'thoroughly analysing' the situation, with Villa deciding whether Kolo Muani would fit into their style of play.
