Arsenal and Chelsea handed fresh title verdict amid Liverpool comparison

Arsenal and Chelsea's chances of winning the Premier League title have been updated after their results this weekend.

The Gunners claimed a 5-1 win away at Crystal Palace on Saturday with Gabriel Jesus scoring twice following on from his hat-trick against the Eagles in midweek in the Carabao Cup. The victory saw Mikel Arteta's side bounce back from dropping points in the draw with Everton in their previous top-flight fixture.

Chelsea also dropped points this weekend against Everton with a goalless draw at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon. The stalemate on Merseyside leaves the Blues four points adrift of leaders Liverpool with a game in hand, with Arsenal in third and two points behind Enzo Maresca's side.

With the Premier League fixtures now completed until after Christmas, a supercomputer has attempted to predict how the final table will look. BettingExpert.com have crunched the numbers using their system, BETSiE, and have tipped the final winner for the title.

The prediction believes that Arsenal will finish second in the Premier League this season with 75 points. That would be more than eight points adrift of Liverpool, who are tipped to win the title with 84 points this term.

Chelsea are third in the prediction with 74 points, less than two behind the Gunners. Manchester City are fourth in the prediction with 67 points, eight behind Arsenal and seven adrift of the Blues.

Arsenal have been given a 12.5% chance of leapfrogging Liverpool and winning the title this season. Chelsea have an 8% likelihood of being crowned league champions this season, however, Liverpool are deemed to be the overwhelming favourites with a 78.5% chance of winning the title.

Premier League football will return on Boxing Day when Chelsea will face Fulham in a London derby at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal will have to wait until Friday before they return to top-flight action when they host Ipswich Town at the Emirates Stadium.
