Chris Kamara has sent a new message after confirming he will be part of Amazon's Premier League coverage on Boxing Day - two years since stepping away from broadcasting rare neurological disorder.
Kamara will cover the game between Nottingham Forest and Tottenham at The City Ground, reporting back to former Sky Sports colleague Jeff Stelling in the studio. The 66-year-old wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, last week to confirm the news and thanked Amazon for allowing him to return to the TV screens.
And now, the former Leeds and Brentford midfielder has sent a message to fans as he prepares to work for Amazon on Thursday. "Hi everyone. For those of you, who have missed the news last week, I'm delighted to be joining Prime's Boxing Day coverage which includes eight games and over 10 hours of action.
"I'll be at the City Ground for Nottingham Forest vs Spurs, reporting back to my old mate, the unbelievable Jeff Stelling, who will have every game and every goal. I'm so excited to be back and can't wait to be doing what I love the most!" Kamara said in a video on Amazon's X account.
Stelling, meanwhile, issued his reaction to Kamara's announcement on X last week. He said: "And I'm looking forward to it as much as you, mate. There's a goal at the City Ground, but for who, Chris Kamara?....."
Kamara presented Soccer Saturday with Stelling, worked on Soccer AM and hosted Goals on Sunday. However, in March 2022 he announced he had been diagnosed with apraxia of speech (AOS), a rare neurological disorder which slowed down his speech and thought processes. He stepped down from his role at Sky after that.
Liverpool are in action on Boxing Day when they host struggling Leicester City at Anfield. Arne Slot's side can cement their place at the top of the Premier League table with victory over the Foxes. The Reds have won their last four top-flight home meetings against Leicester dating back to January 2019.
A win would follow their 6-3 destruction of Tottenham on Sunday. Speaking after the clash against Spurs, Slot said: "Until 60, 65 minutes, I really, really, really enjoyed what I saw. Of course, we were caught one time in bringing the ball out from the back and that immediately led to a goal for Tottenham.
"You think if we would have gone into the dressing room with a 2-1, that would not have done justice to all the chances we had – that's why I was quite happy with the fact that we scored the 3-1. Then 4-1, 5-1, incredible display.
"But then you also saw that no matter how much quality players have, if they think they don't have to run anymore then in this league, especially against Tottenham because they are so good with the ball as well, they immediately start to create, and that's what they did and they scored two goals.
"I was happy that the sixth one went in, to be fair."
