Mohamed Salah broke yet another Premier League record against Tottenham as the winger became Liverpool’s outright fourth-leading goalscorer in history, with Peter Schmeichel backing the Reds to compete for the quadruple in 2025.

Slot might have cracked the code on how to use Dominik Szoboszlai

Dominik Szoboszlai scored and assisted against Tottenham in one of the Hungarian midfielder’s best performances yet for Liverpool, with the 23-year-old causing the north London side multiple problems throughout the entire game.

With Glenn Murray noting that Szoboszlai acted as a false nine for Liverpool, this role seemingly got the best out of the former RB Leipzig maestro, with the youngster constantly on the ball for the Reds and creating havoc in the Spurs’ penalty area.

Indeed, it wasn’t just Murray who was impressed with the Liverpool no. 8’s performance, with Alexis Mac Allister showering Szoboszlai with praise as Hungarian teammate and AFC Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez also hailing his fellow countryman on social media.

Szoboszlai knows he needs to build from Tottenham performance

With three goals and four assists in all competitions this season, Szoboszlai is already four goal contributions off his overall tally last year for Liverpool, with Sundays showing against Tottenham potentially the start of something new for the midfield maestro.

And with two games left to go before the start of 2025, Szoboszlai knows he needs to build from his display on Sunday in north London if he’s to really show the world that he’s turned a new corner and that he can become a superstar for Liverpool.

All the talent is there for Szoboszlai to become one of the best midfielders in the world, and heading into the New Year, this new role could be what the Hungarian international grows into on his path to becoming the player many Liverpool fans expect the youngster to become.
