Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently met with Carlo Ancelotti to discuss the future of Brahim Diaz - Both are big fans of the Moroccan.
Real Madrid recently beat Sevilla rather convincingly in La Liga. The champions hosted Sevilla and started off incredibly well, going three goals up within the opening 34 minutes. Even after conceding Sevilla's first goal, Real never crumbled.
Solidifying the match result in the second half was Brahim Diaz. The Real Madrid squad player started under Carlo Ancelotti and played the entire match, scoring the decisive goal.
And now, Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti reached an agreement on Brahim's future.
Florentino Perez makes final decision on Brahim Diaz’s future at Real Madrid
According to a report from Diego Mengual of Defensa Central, both Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti envision Brahim Diaz's future at Real Madrid.
Florentino Perez even said that Brahim is good enough to start for any club in the world. Therefore, it is within Real Madrid's best interest to keep ahold of him.
It is important to note that Perez's meeting with Ancelotti was not solely to do with Brahim Diaz. In fact, they addressed the Real Madrid squad at large. However, a telling decision was made on Diaz, which could be an indication of where he sits within Ancelotti's pecking order.
Admittedly, a large reason why Brahim Diaz was handed a start and played the entire match against Sevilla was due to Vinicius Junior's suspension. This forced Ancelotti into rotating his front-line.
However, Brahim did absolutely no harm to his reputation in the Spanish capital at the weekend. In fact, if anything, he only bolstered his chances of picking up a start, even when Vini returns to the fray after his suspension.
Brahim Diaz is an excellent squad player. This has been proven time and time again, as he very rarely disappoints whenever he plays. Therefore, there is a growing sense that he is capable of so much more than measly minutes from the bench or in less important games.
Nevertheless, playing for Real Madrid remains a privilege in itself. Therefore, for Brahim Diaz to compete with other world-class attackers might be difficult in terms of competition, yet it's hard to imagine him wanting anything else.
