With Manchester City in their current run of form, you could reasonably argue that they are really missing someone like Cole Palmer. City have lost nine of their last 12 matches in all competitions - an incredible turn of poor form you do not associate with Pep Guardiola's side.
That run of results has seen them slip out of Premier League title contention and their latest reverse - 2-1 away at Aston Villa on Saturday, saw them slip 12 points behind leaders Liverpool at the top of the table.
They are undoubtedly missing Rodri in the middle of the park, while the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden have not been able to show their quality for a number of different reasons this season. erling Haaland has also gone off the boil.
Palmer was a product of the City academy and big things were expected of him at the Etihad Stadium. but he made the £40million move to Chelsea last summer and has not looked back since.
Palmer is Chelsea's main main. He has 11 goals and six assists so far this season, adding to the 27 goals and 15 assists he registered in the entirety of last season.
But former Man City and Chelsea star Shaun Wright-Phillips does not feel he is being missed by City, although he did admit he is the most exciting player in the Premier League.
Speaking to SportsCasting.com he said: "Cole Palmer is the most exciting English player in the Premier League. I often get asked, do you think City miss him? I say you're always going to miss a player like that, but would he play for City the way he plays for Chelsea? I don't think he would, because no one gives City that much space and time. Everybody's got eleven men behind the ball, so it's normally a bit harder to navigate.
"For me, watching Cole Palmer is a breath of fresh air. It's almost just like watching somebody play in the street with his friends. With our generation, that's how a lot of talented footballers became who they were, just by playing football freely, basically. So, it's beautiful to see."
