Carnevali: “Berardi is wanted by Atalanta and Juventus, soon we will sit down to talk”

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali recently discussed the future of star player Domenico Berardi during an appearance on the radio show “[**La politica nel pallone**](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/futuro-berardi-le-parole-di-carnevali-cercato-da-atalanta-e-juve-95753)” on GR Parlamento. As Sassuolo leads the Serie B standings, Carnevali addressed various topics, including the potential transfer of Berardi, who has returned to consistent play following a severe Achilles tendon injury last April.

Regarding Berardi’s situation, Carnevali stated, “Today, the most important thing for us and for the player is that he has returned to playing after his injury and, above all, that he is returning to a high level. We’re seeing the champion Berardi we know, and the professional Berardi – because the young man is an exemplary figure who has made himself available in a league that is not his category. He’s helping us carry forward the project of this club, which he knows very well, contributing to achieving promotion and also helping many young players grow. We have a team with many youngsters, we are one of the youngest teams in the league, and he gives his contribution.”

Carnevali continued, addressing Berardi’s future, “What will happen, we will see together. As of today, there are no requests. Today, he is first and foremost focused on Sassuolo. Then we will make evaluations, as we have always done in recent years. We will sit down with the clubs that will ask for him because we have something special, something different with the player. We are always in harmony in all aspects.”

When asked about past opportunities for Berardi to leave Sassuolo, Carnevali revealed, “Yes, there have been several moments, times when perhaps the club was also willing to make a sale, and then for various reasons, it was not concluded. We have had several requests, I think of Juventus, Atalanta, various teams over the years. Then for one reason or another, primarily our will and then that of the player, and perhaps there were no economic offers that made us find a solution.”
