Several clubs monitoring key Barcelona midfielder amid ongoing registration issues

The topic of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor’s registration in La Liga for the second half of the season has been dominating the headlines in Barcelona.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder, along with his fellow summer signing, was only registered until December 31 at the start of the season and will need to be re-registered by January for the latter half of the campaign.

Several clubs keeping track of situation

As has already been reported, there is a special clause in Dani Olmo’s contract which would allow him to leave Barcelona for free if he is not registered with La Liga.

As such, Mundo Deportivo now reports that several clubs across Europe have shown interest in the Spanish attacking midfielder’s situation at the Catalan club, which is understandable considering the quality of the player.

However, neither the player nor his agents are concerned about the situation or the interest from other clubs.

For starters, Olmo’s only focus is on continuing at Barça and succeeding at the club he loves. Secondly, both he and his camp are confident that the Catalans will find a way to ensure his registration from 1 January, just like Pau Victor.

There is a strong rapport between Olmo’s agents and Barcelona, and at no point is there any consideration that the player might not remain at the club. As such, he will spend the holidays with his family and with complete peace of mind.

Work being done

Barça have resorted to the courts to ensure the player’s registration, while also keeping open other avenues, such as generating income through the sale of VIP seats or securing new sponsors to bring additional funds to the club’s coffers.

Earlier today, the hearing took place at the Commercial Court No. 10 in Barcelona, where the judge heard the lawyers from both Barça and La Liga following the club’s lawsuit for a precautionary measure that would allow Olmo and Victor to remain registered.

Beyond this legal path, which the club are confident in after the same judge allowed Gavi’s registration in 2023, Barça are also working against the clock to secure additional income that could further enable La Liga to accept the registration of both players.
