Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old English international Fikayo Tomori.
According to a report by Italian outlet Milan Live, Fikayo Tomori might return to the Premier League, with AC Milan ready to cash in on him next year. The Serie A giants want around €30 million to part ways with the star defender. Meanwhile, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and West Ham United are interested in signing the English international.
Fikayo Tomori and his rollercoaster ride at AC Milan
Fikayo Tomori has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining AC Milan from Chelsea. The Rossoneri initially signed the Canada-born Englishman on loan in January 2021 before completing the permanent deal in the subsequent summer transfer window.
While the 27-year-old was solid in his first few seasons with AC Milan, he has blown hot and cold in recent campaigns. Tomori has turned out over 150 times thus far for the Rossoneri while chipping in with seven goals and one assist. Meanwhile, a return to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and West Ham United vying for his signature.
A man in demand
The former Chelsea defender has been on Aston Villa’s radar for a long time. The Villans are scouring the market for a centre-back amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Diego Carlos. So, the English international is a viable target for Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, Fikayo Tomori was one of the targets for Newcastle United in the summer transfer window before the deal failed to see the light of day. The Magpies remain keen on signing the Englishman amid the advancing years of Fabian Schar, Dan Burn, and Jamaal Lascelles. So, Tomori is an option worth considering for Newcastle United.
West Ham United also mulled over signing Tomori in the summer transfer window before failing with the deal. With Jean-Clair Todibo’s long-term future uncertain, West Ham can do with a new centre-back. So, the former Chelsea defender has emerged as a viable target for the East London outfit.
AC Milan will be open to cashing in on the 27-year-old English international for €30 million, with Mario Gila emerging as the top target to replace him at the Serie A club. It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa, Newcastle United, or West Ham United can take Tomori back to the Premier League.
