Former Man Utd star’s immediate 10-word reaction to Bournemouth beating Ruben Amorim’s men spoke volumes

A former Manchester United star dropped a telling message after Bournemouth secured a sensational 3-0 win over Ruben Amorim’s side at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils crashed out of the Carabao Cup last Thursday after suffering a 4-3 defeat to Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the quarter-finals.

However, Ruben Amorim’s men were unable to bounce back in the Premier League and were left deeply exposed during their performance against Bournemouth.

Bournemouth took the lead in the first half after Ryan Christie whipped in a cross from out on the right and Dean Huijsen headed home past Andre Onana.

Following on from their set-piece frailty in the first half, Manchester United were dealt another major blow after Bournemouth received a penalty in the second half.

United defender Noussair Mazraoui brought down Bournemouth star Justin Kluivert with a clumsy challenge and referee Craig Pawson pointed to the spot.

Justin Kluivert sent Andre Onana the wrong way and successfully converted from the spot-kick before Antoine Semenyo added the Cherries’ third only two minutes later.

Ex-Man Utd man reacts to Bournemouth result

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim faces a massive challenge in getting the Red Devils to finish in a top-four spot after Sunday’s 3-0 defeat.

The Red Devils languish in 13th place in the Premier League table and United are nine points behind fourth-place Nottingham Forest in the race for top four.

Former United player Gordon Hill took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and asked for Red Devils fans to provide some insight into the performance.

“Did not see the game today, anybody want to fill me in?” he tweeted.

One X user responded with a scathing assessment and suggested that several players underdelivered with their performances against Bournemouth.

Responding to the tweet, Gordon Hill said in his verdict: “Oh dear a new team by the sounds of it.”

Amorim sends message to Man Utd players

United will now return to action after Christmas, with the Red Devils travelling away to the Molineux for their Premier League clash against Wolves on Boxing Day.

Speaking after the Bournemouth result, Amorim insisted that his United players need to remain “calm” if and when they concede in a match.

“Of course, it’s [another] one of our focuses – to maintain the calm when you concede a goal,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“The last match, we suffer a goal and then another goal very quickly, so we have to manage these moments.

“Try to pass some calm to the players and say the game has difficult moments. We have to manage these difficult moments.”
