Ideally, FC Barcelona would like to have all their pending issues solved as soon as possible. However, especially due to their financial limitations and restrictions, that is hardly possible. The only way for Barcelona to begin getting through various operations would be to first solve their massive 1:1 issue.
To do so, the Catalan club has thought up of various streams of revenue that could be used to address this problem. However, due to this one significant roadblock, several pending operations have had to be put on hold until further notice or confirmation.
One such major operation is the contract renewals of both Gavi and Pedri until 2030. Despite the fact that most of the negotiations are already finalized with the two Golden Boys and essentially it is only the official announcement that is pending, Barcelona will need some time to sort out their salary cap in order to accommodate the agreements within the new contract extensions.
However, as highlighted by SPORT, Barcelona are certain about the fact that either they make those renewals official in January of 2025, or the summer of the same year. It now depends on the club if they can manage to do so as early as the first month of the new year, or if they will take a more cautious route and wait until the summer.
Similarly, the issue of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor’s registrations is also pending and needs attention. To deal with that, club president Joan Laporta has already confirmed that FC Barcelona has filed a lawsuit involving La Liga and the answer to those issues will likely arrive in the upcoming days.
If the court ends up only granting temporary relief, the renewal announcements for both Gavi and Pedri, as well as potentially Ronald Araujo, could end up being delayed until the end of the season. On the other hand, however, the club could look to activate the sale of VIP seats if the court does not take that particular course of action.
Accordingly, it is expected that the sales in question could generate around €120 million. In the event that Barcelona can successfully manage to complete those sales, it would allow the club to potentially register those new contracts a bit early.
