Scott McTominay has already stressed just how much he is loving life after Manchester United, which may yet influence Harry Maguire to follow his former teammate to Napoli.
Approaching the January transfer window it has been reported Antonio Conte is eyeing his next coup from Old Trafford. With Maguire's contract expiring at the end of the season, Napoli could soon take advantage of the Bosman ruling and begin negotiations next month for a free move ahead of the summer.
The 31-year-old has not been a nailed-on starter at Man United for a good while now, but has still made five appearances since Ruben Amorim took over in November.
Whilst he himself remains 'positive' over extending his time with the club, he does have a direct contact within the Napoli dressing room that could be prepared to answer any questions.
That of course is McTominay, who during the recent summer window transferred from Man United to Naples for £27.5m.
Locked in a title battle with his new club two points shy of Serie A leaders Inter Milan rather than languishing with a team in the bottom half of the Premier League, the Scotsman has no regrets.
In November he stated: "It was a huge decision for me and my family and my friends. Times like that in your life you just have to say; 'Do I want to do it'? Absolutely, and go for it."
"There's no looking back." he went on. "I've never had any regrets in my life or my career and I'll continue that way to this day. I want my career to be successful, and I'm going to go out of my way to try and push myself to be the best football player and best person that I can possibly be, as well."
There is no telling what discussions Maguire could have with his old teammate in private, but this public announcement should cover all he needs to know if making the choice between staying put or accepting a new challenge.
