“I’d probably take…” – Tottenham icon wants club to sign Chelsea ace this winter

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in some reinforcements in Ange Postecoglou’s squad in the upcoming winter transfer window, and the left full-back position is supposedly one of the positions that the Lilywhites have been looking to strengthen this January, and former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara has urged Daniel Levy to seek a possible loan deal for Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell.

The Australian head coach in charge at Hotspur Way has been highly dependent on Italian international Destiny Udogie in the left defensive flank with the club lacking either a backup to the former Udinese player. And every time Udogie is serving the sidelines, Spurs are forced to make a makeshift change with Djed Spence covering for the 2002-born left back at the moment.

O’Hara wants Chilwell at Tottenham

From Arsenal top Tottenham, the Jamie O'Hara story.

Jamie O’Hara wants Ben Chilwell at N17.

However, former midfielder O’Hara insists that Levy should be looking at potentially getting the former Leicester City fullback to N17 as he cites a Sky Sports report that suggests Chilwell is expected to push for a Chelsea exit in the winter window.

Discussing potential incomings at White Hart Lane on Grosvenor Sport (via. Tottenham News), O’Hara said:

“I’d probably take Ben Chilwell on loan as well, because [Destiny] Udogie plays every single game.”

Given the squad depth that Enzo Maresca enjoys at Chelsea (especially on the left defensive flank), a potential loan move this winter window would be an interesting low-risk and high-reward opportunity that Tottenham can take advantage of, as such a move could provide more depth in the position to Postecoglou while also offering Chilwell an opportunity to revive his career at a club where he could be a key player.
