Zinedine Zidane is only open to two jobs to return to management - Real Madrid or France. Man United tried, but failed, to get him back on the bench.
Without a doubt, one of the strangest cases in football to analyse is Zinedine Zidane. Whenever there is an opening for a managerial job, it is the legendary French midfielder who is at the top of preferable candidates to take the opening.
However, in his short managerial history, there is only one team who has had the privilege of welcoming Zizou as their manager. No prizes for guessing who that team is, since he led Real Madrid to one of their most successful periods in history.
Zinedine Zidane rejected Man United, he only wants Real Madrid
According to a report from Marca, there are only two clubs who Zinedine Zidane would accept - Real Madrid at club level or France at international level. This is due to Zidane valuing his legacy at Real Madrid, so he could not imagine managing another club - The same could be said for his beloved nation, France.
This hasn't stopped other clubs from trying to appoint him. After all, we cannot blame those clubs, considering Zidane is one of the best available options on the market - Yet he remains unavailable for every side except Real Madrid and France.
The Spanish report does claim that Manchester United, Juventus, PSG and Bayern Munich have all approached Zidane to manage them several times in the last few years. Each time, though, they were met with one clear and blunt answer from Zizou - Thanks, but no thanks.
So, will Zinedine Zidane ever return to management? Well, it probably won't be anytime soon.
After all, Carlo Ancelotti is at the helm of Real Madrid right now. Ancelotti is a manager who Zidane respects very highly, so Zidane is not likely to entertain any speculation about replacing the legendary Italian coach.
However, if the unthinkable does occur and there is an opening at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, then Madridistas would welcome back Zinedine Zidane with outstretched arms.
