Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews that we think you guys could have missed featuring the likes of Mike Maignan, Emiliano Martinez and Alexander Isak…
Eddie Howe issued a hands-off warning to the likes of CHELSEA, “world-class” Newcastle forward Alexander Isak after he struck a 54-minute hat-trick to inspire a 4-0 victory at Ipswich.
Isak is now regarded as one of the best strikers in the Premier League and a forward that all the big clubs have been linked with over the past 12 months, but that £110M asking price has been a real problem for the chasing clubs.
It has been claimed that we could make a move in the January window, but after seeing Isak scoring that impressive hat-trick at the weekend, Howe has opened up and sent a transfer message to chasing clubs.
“He is a world-class talent and the way he took his goals today, he has got that coolness in front of goal, that composure that very few players have,” Howe reflected.
“When you add his other qualities into the mix, how quick he is, how technically gifted he is, for me, he has got it all.”
With Newcastle eager to not fall foul of Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) ahead of the winter transfer window, Howe was asked if he wanted to keep Isak.
Howe smiled: “It makes me laugh. Yeah, absolutely. There is no part of me or anyone at Newcastle that wants to let Alex go. He is very much part of our long-term plans and personally, I don’t see that being an issue.
“He is motivated and he wants to do well. He has got big aspirations with his career, still relatively young, so he has got hopefully a really bright future ahead of him.
“I know his desire to score goals is second to none. Every conversation I have had about Newcastle concerning his future with him has been very positive.
“I would love for him, with the other players, to be the man and team-mates to contribute towards us winning a trophy. That’s the aim.”
MAIGNAN CONTACT MADE
CHELSEA have already contacted AC Milan about a possible deal for shot-stopper Mike Maignan, as the club are constantly being linked with moves for players that will help improve the squad.
Everyone has been socked by the start to the season that we have had, they are second in the Premier League and looking like a side that will be very hard to stop this season as Enzo Maresca has made a massive impact.
But there have been many reports in the media that we are looking to improve a number of areas in the squad and adding a new stopper to the side is something that will reportedly help us really win that Premier League title.
Robert Sanchez has been a massive part of that side this season – but he is not seen as a man that is good enough to play for one of the big Premier League clubs and has really struggled to impress.
That has led to alot of speculation in the media that we will once again delve into that transfer kitty and add a new goalkeeper to the side, and Maignon is a man that has been linked with a move to London for a while.
And it has been claimed that the club are dreaming of signing Mike Maignon in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes and have already contacted the Italian about a potential deal for the stopper.
MARTINEZ TIPPED JOIN CHELSEA
CHELSEA have been tipped to sign Premier League goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez if Aston Villa fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.
Aston Villa signed Martinez from Arsenal in 2020 and the 32-year-old has gone on to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and a player that has lifted the World Cup with Argentina.
Aston Villa are currently sixth in the Premier League, three points outside the top-four places, and sit fifth in the revamped Champions League ahead of their final two group games.
However, despite the fact he is happy at Villa, Ex-England striker Darren Bent believes star goalkeeper Martinez may consider leaving Villa if they do not secure a return to the Champions League next season and has named Chelsea as a potential destination for the big man
‘I wonder if Aston Villa don’t get back in the Champions League,’ former Premier League striker Bent told talkSPORT. ‘I know he signed a new contract, but could he go?
‘The fact is he could play for almost any team he wanted to. Chelsea could get him.’
IcCheleanews View…
We do need a stopper, but again, we would be massive surprised to see Martinez make the move to Stamford Bridge, especially because the board like to sign players that they can offer 10 year contracts too.
So even though he would be a great signing, it is not gonna happen
