“Desperate” – Fabrizio Romano updates on Chelsea’s January new striker situation

The main man Fabrizio Romano has been updating on some of Chelsea’s transfer plans for next month and for the summer in a latest video drop.

The transfer expert has reported that everything is basically done now for The Blues to sign winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United in the summer of 2025 on a permanent deal after he spends the season there on loan first.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea already agree terms for player to sign in the summer!

There are plenty of other situations that might develop as well, with a number of other players potentially looking to head out the exit door due to wanting more first team minutes. It doesn’t sound like Chelsea will stand in the way of anyone wanting to leave the club, and that is probably actually a very good thing to do. Having unhappy players only leads to unrest and the dressing room getting a bit unsettled.

Results are going well for Chelsea at the moment, though, so you don’t often hear about these things when everything is rosey.

Will Chelsea sign a new striker next month?

Maresca may soon want another striker in

That is what Romano was speaking about in his latest YouTube video this week. And it doesn’t sound like they will…

He said:

“Chelsea are not desperate to bring in a new striker in January. Chelsea are very happy with what they see, and the balance in the dressing room, also in terms of relationships. The performances on the pitch have been excellent so far.”

To be honest, unless something happens with Christopher Nkunku and he is allowed to leave next month, I always thought Chelsea would now just wait until the summer to bring in another new striker anyway. I think Marc Guiu may go on a needed loan move in January though, or potentially that could wait until the summer too. But plenty of situations here to watch.
