Two years on: Palace mourn loss of Maxi Jazz

The mural, in collaboration with renowned British Street Artist collective [**MurWalls**](https://murwalls.com/), stands as a permanent memorial to him and his indelible legacy on the Palace and South London community.

"Maxi really was the embodiment of south London in himself as a person, kind and gracious as he was," the Chairman said at the mural's unveiling. "That was represented in his music, his lyrics, his accent – everything about him was pure South London."

Maxi received a further tribute from the Holmesdale Fanatics before kick-off on the final day of the 2022/23 season, with the Holmesdale Road Stand adorned with a vast banner (pictured above) reading [**“This is our church, this is where we heal our hurts”**](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/video/maxi-jazz-mural-formally-unveiled-selhurst-park/) – a reference to Faithless track ‘God is a DJ’ – and raising a towering ‘Tifo’ in homage to the much-loved musician.

Forever in our hearts, Maxi.
