West Ham United are reportedly set to reignite their transfer pursuit of AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, but face stiff competition from Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
Tomori, who nearly joined the Hammers during his Chelsea days, missed out on a move when David Moyes declined to guarantee him playing time during a crucial phone call.
According to Milan Live, the Serie A club is keen on acquiring Lazio’s Mario Gila, valued at €30m. To fund the transfer, Milan may need to offload a player, with Tomori the likely candidate after falling out of favour under manager Paulo Fonseca who came close to joining West Ham this summer.

West Ham, Newcastle, and Villa are all interested in the 27-year-old centre-back, with reports suggesting an offer could be tabled as soon as January.
While a winter sale could prove challenging, AC Milan are open to selling Tomori if their £25m valuation is met. With Gila’s price tag closely aligned with Tomori’s, Milan could utilise the funds to secure their defensive target.
It remains to be seen whether West Ham, Newcastle, or Villa will take decisive action in the upcoming transfer window. However stranger things have happened and I still think the Jean Clair Todibo story might have a sting in the tail despite recent public utterances of allegiance.
