Celtic captain Callum McGregor has hailed Kieran Tierney as a ‘quality player’ amid reports of a potential Parkhead return for the left-back.
The 27-year-old, whose contract at Arsenal expires at the end of the season, could well be on his way back to Glasgow’s east end.

Greg Taylor’s contractual situation remains up in the air, and it doesn’t look as though Alex Valle’s loan will be made permanent.
Celtic will, therefore, be on the hunt for a long-term solution at left-back sooner rather than later, and Tierney could be the man Brendan Rodgers turns to.
Skipper McGregor, who played with Tierney throughout his initial spell at Parkhead, admitted he’s read reports about a potential return while hailing his old teammate’s abilities: “I’ve not spoken to Kieran yet but I have seen all the stuff that’s been written,” he said (RecordSport).
“I don’t know too much about it – but we’re generally the last ones to know.
“When someone appears in the building, then we’ll go and meet them. He’s a quality player. I’ve been in war with him for a number of years now. He’s a good guy and we’ll see what happens.”
Along with manager Rodgers, McGregor knows exactly what Tierney would bring to this current Celtic side.
The defender has had his injury struggles throughout his career to date, but if those could be adeptly managed, the Scottish Premiership champions would have a fine player on their hands.
Funnily enough, no one has really held down the left-back spot in Glasgow’s east end since Tierney left for London over five years ago. It would be his to lose if he came back up the road in January or next summer.
