Villa News Speaking to Bryan King

Jack Grealish appeared to aim a subtle dig at his former fans as Aston Villa beat Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
Unai Emery’s side recorded a 2-1 victory over the Citizens at Villa Park on 21 December, with Grealish not exactly receiving the warmest reception from his old supporters, which left Michael Owen sick to his stomach.
The 29-year-old appeared to hit back at the Villa faithful, holding up three fingers to the crowd to represent the number of Premier League titles he has won since leaving his boyhood club.
However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – doesn’t think this incident will have any impact on a potential return to the club down the line.
“I didn’t find the reaction to Grealish odd at all,” King said.
“I wouldn’t call it bad blood, but a little bit of banter between the Villa supporters and Grealish. However, he cost the club nothing, and he was sold for £100milion. Therefore, people standing on the terraces have got to realise that was a wonderful boost for the football club.

“Of course, they’re going to get on his back, because Manchester City are in a situation they haven’t found themselves in over the past five or six years, and Grealish is playing for City. However, I’ll tell you now, if they could have Grealish back they would, don’t you worry about that.
“I also don’t think this would have impacted Grealish’s stance on a return. He loves it, that is his neck of the woods, he loves all of that, that is all part of it. These things happen in football.”
Manchester City star Jack Grealish to return to Aston Villa?
King has previously speculated that Grealish would be keen on a Villa return should he leave Manchester City. Therefore, if the Englishman does become available, it would be interesting to see if his former club make a move for him.
Of course, the finances involved could make a deal difficult. However, it would certainly be worth the money if they could bring one of the club’s greatest players from the modern era home.

And should they pull it off, those fans booing the midfielder on Saturday would likely quickly change their tune once they saw Grealish in Villa colours again.
