It is no secret that Barcelona are actively searching for a left-back to strengthen their squad for the upcoming seasons.
Now, as part of this strategy, several players have been linked with a move to the Catalan club, including Tyrick Mitchell from Crystal Palace, Alvaro Carreras from Benfica, and Hugo Bueno from Feyenoord, reports SPORT.
Among them, Mitchell stands out as a top candidate, especially given that his contract is set to expire in June. This makes him a potentially valuable option for Barcelona, both from a sporting and financial perspective.
Barcelona’s interest in finding a competitive left-back is well-known. Alejandro Balde is regarded as a key asset in that position, but the club wants to bring in someone who can challenge him for the starting spot.
Deco’s plan is to find a player who already has some experience in top-flight football, yet still has room for growth. The idea is to bring in a player who can contribute immediately while also developing over time.

While the club is considering these options, it seems that Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies remains out of reach for now.
Despite efforts from Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, to make a move for the Canadian left-back, Davies’ high valuation makes him an unlikely target.
Though his contract is also nearing its end, the financial demands are simply too high for Barcelona at this point. Furthermore, rumours linking him to Real Madrid are intense as well.

Alongside the names already mentioned, Barcelona have also looked into Caio Henrique from AS Monaco. Henrique is a more established player in European football, offering a higher level of experience.
However, it appears that the club’s primary focus remains on younger, emerging talent like Mitchell, who offers both sporting potential and a more manageable financial commitment.
Mitchell, in particular, has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs, with Arsenal and Tottenham both reportedly keeping tabs on him.
As his contract will allow him to speak to other clubs in January, Barcelona are monitoring the situation closely, although no final decision has been made yet.
