Bayer Leverkusen are keen to extend the contract and are involved in talks with the player. But journalist Florian Plettenberg has recently tweeted that this will not change plans of Bayern. The German giants will continue to monitor the 21 year old until he signs a new contract.

Wirtz is currently tied with Bayer Leverkusen until 2027. The German champions will plan to extend it further and make him untouchable. Currently the player has market value of €140 million. Hence, the interested clubs will have to empty their pockets in order to sign him.
Currently Bayern have lead over Arsenal in the race. But, the Gunners will hope to convince Wirtz to move to England and make name in Premier League. If the 21 year old joins Gunners, he will directly get into starting eleven over many current Arsenal stars.
