Arsenal could emerge as suitors for Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo as the Spaniard’s stint with the club remains in the balance.
Reports from GiveMeSport suggest that the Gunners will turn to Olmo as they look to make additions to their squad for the second half of the season.

Dani Olmo joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig only six months ago in a deal worth around £52m. However, his new club have suffered financial issues over the last couple of seasons. They will need to free up some more funds from their squad’s salary in order to register Olmo for the second half of the season.
This is mainly because LaLiga’s extension period for Barcelona was only for six months. That means Olmo was registered only until December 31, virtually making him a free agent following that date.
Reports from Mundo Deportivo have added that Dani Olmo has a clause in his contract which would allow him to depart the club if they fail to re-register him. This means that interested clubs will queue up to sign the star midfielder in January.

The Gunners are not the only Premier League keeping tabs on Olmo. Reports from Sacha Tavolieri of Sky Sports Switzerland suggest that Manchester City are also interested. Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of his compatriot, and could be tempted to enter the race to sign him.
Injuries to Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne weakened City’s midfield considerably and Olmo has plenty experience which he can bring with him to mitigate the situation. Despite Guardiola being a big admirer of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz, he would choose Olmo if the deal does not cost an exorbitant amount.
The Gunners, on the other hand, could struggle to get ahead in their pursuit of Olmo. Since the departure of former sporting director Edu Gaspar, the club are not too optimistic about getting their way in the transfer market.
