Boca Juniors goalkeeper Leandro Brey has ended up on Arsenal’s transfer radar, according to a report from South America.
The 22-year-old joined the Argentine club from Los Andes in 2022 and had to wait until the second half of this year to start featuring regularly.
Brey made 21 appearances this year, keeping 10 clean sheets and conceding 16 goals in the process.
His impressive performances for Boca Juniors have seen Arsenal take notice and they are closely following him. That’s at least what Pasión Fútbol are reporting, and they state the Gunners ‘want to take’ him away from his current club.
They say the Argentine has started to show signs that he can be a ‘great’ goalkeeper in the future. As well as Mikel Arteta’s side, other clubs are in the picture to sign him, but their details aren’t mentioned.
Pasión Fútbol state Boca Juniors president Juan Román Riquelme has ‘to be attentive’ of the interest shown by Arsenal and others.
Although they state the north London club want Brey, it’s not mentioned whether they are looking at him for January or next summer. The goalkeeper’s deal lasts until December 2027.
