Barcelona tracking Premier League left-back with available on a free – Tottenham and Arsenal also interested

Barcelona and Real Madrid have made good use of the free agent market in recent years, and with the Blaugrana still struggling financially, it would be no surprise if they dipped into again next summer.

Sporting Director Deco has identified the full-back positions as one of the priorities for next summer, and Sport say that one of the players he is keeping an eye on is Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell. The 25-year-old is out of contract next summer, and is yet to sign a new deal.

However if it is money that is a priority, that may be an issue for Barcelona. Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also keeping an eye on their London neighbour – Mitchell can sign a pre-contract in a week’s time, as he enters the last six months of his deal.

Barcelona have also been linked with AS Monaco’s Caio Henrique, Hugo Bueno of Feyenoord and Benfica’s Alvaro Carreras in recent months. It remains to be seen what kind of budget they will have to work with though, and it seems relatively unlikely that they will make a move imminently.
