Chelsea star Noni Madueke has revealed a funny nickname he has for Cole Palmer that the latter is not a fan of. Palmer has displayed excellent form since his arrival at Stamford Bridge last year from Manchester City.

The England international is arguably the club's best player out of their diverse squad. He had an exceptional debut campaign with the Blues last season, scoring 27 goals and providing 15 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.

Many fans call him 'Cold Palmer' given the exceptional quality he showcases almost effortlessly on the pitch. The Chelsea attacker has admitted his love for 'Chippy Chips' and Madueke has come up with a new name for his teammate.

Speaking in an interview with former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster for Amazon Prime Video, Madueke said (as quoted by Sport Bible):

"The thing about Palmer is that the guy genuinely loves football so much. I feel like he could be out there on the lawn just kicking a ball around from morning till night."

He added:

"It's chippy man, I call him that all the time. He gets angry but it's calm. Chippy, that's him man. Chippy chips. He's going to be fuming when he sees this!"

The Blues will next face Fulham in the Premier League on Boxing Day.

Jason Cundy names 23-year-old as Chelsea's 'most important player' ahead of Cole Palmer

Pundit Jason Cundy believes Moises Caicedo is the most important player in Chelsea's squad ahead of Cole Palmer. He insists that Caicedo is the best midfielder in the league right now.

Palmer certainly continues to play an instrumental role and has maintained his form, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists across competitions so far this season.

However, Caicedo has also been a marquee player for Enzo Maresca's side this season and a stalwart midfielder. While some may argue Palmer is Chelsea's most important player, Cundy believes Caicedo deserves that praise.

He said on TalkSport:

"Chelsea were good for a kicking by everyone over the media because of the money spent, ‘the billion-pound bottle jobs’, it was hard for anyone to look at Caicedo’s performances and really credit them. I’ve been talking about Caicedo for a while now. This boy is the best midfielder in the country right now.

"I think he’s our most important player. People will argue Palmer, I understand that. I think he’s our most important player because there’s so much he can do and does do. The second goal we scored against Brentford. Win the ball, give it to Enzo, pass, finish."
