Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has warned his side to be ready for anything when they welcome Tottenham to the City Ground on Thursday.

Spurs are arguably the most entertaining side in the Premier League, having scored 39 goals -- more than any other team in the league so far this season -- but, as a 6-3 loss to leaders Liverpool last weekend proved, they are vulnerable defensively.

Forest go into the game in an impressive fourth place following three straight wins.

Nuno, who had a short and unhappy spell at Spurs in 2021, said the present Tottenham side were extremely unpredictable.

"You never know what's going to happen in the game.

"What we can see is good (Spurs) players, a lot of goals, also conceding goals. We analysed yesterday, it was different in terms of goals and situations.

"The result was a little bit unexpected but what we are preparing is a new game, new situations will happen and we are facing a very good game."

Nuno deployed a back three of Morato, Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic as Forest became the first club this season to stop Brentford from scoring on their own ground and he could use Saturday's defensive line-up against Spurs

"I think it worked OK," said the 50-year-old Portuguese boss. "We were good in the game. Defensively we had to be aware that Brentford were very offensive, a lot of goals and situations and one of the reasons was that.

"But before, we did it against (Manchester) City and many games before so it's a shape the players knew, the routines were there and we decided to go with this game, let's see."
