Juventus enquire about Chelsea’s Disasi

Juventus have clear plans for the January transfer window, with a central defender being the top priority. While several profiles are under consideration, a new name has emerged on Cristiano Giuntoli’s list: Axel Disasi.

Calciomercato [**report**](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juventus-chieste-informazioni-per-disasi-del-chelsea-la-situazione-59437) how the list of players observed by the Bianconeri management is growing. In addition to the well-known David Hancko from Feyenoord and Antonio Silva from Benfica, the 1998-born Chelsea center-back is now also being considered. Giuntoli, before the match against Monza, had left the door open for new candidates for the defense, stating, “Hancko? He’s good, and we’ve been following him for some time, but he’s not the only one. We definitely need to do something in defense. We’ll see when the cards are on the table. We certainly know we need to do something at the back.”

Juventus are interested in Disasi and has requested information about the French center-back from Chelsea, who will turn 27 on March 11. The former Monaco player, known for his great physical strength (standing at 190 cm), is not having a positive season with the Blues. In the 2023/24 season, he was an immovable starter, but now he’s lower in Enzo Maresca’s hierarchy. So far in the 2024/25 season, he has made 14 appearances in total (only 4 in the Premier League, 6 in the Conference League) for just over 1,100 total minutes. This situation has fueled rumors of a possible transfer as early as January, despite the €45 million investment made in the summer of 2023 to bring him to London. Juventus and other clubs, including Bayern Munich, are monitoring the situation.

However, Disasi’s move to Juventus is currently a scenario that’s difficult to materialize. This is because Maresca has to manage other defensive issues, such as Wesley Fofana’s injury and Benoit Badiashile’s situation. As of now, the coach reportedly doesn’t want to let Disasi leave to avoid losing a player who can be part of the rotation and increase his playing time.

Juventus’s request for information, however, confirms that work is being done at Continassa to bring in a new defender as soon as possible. Disasi is just the latest name to be added to the list.
