'We don't trust you': Everton handed warning as Roma fans discover major 'issue' with TFG

New ownership on Merseyside is offering Everton fans new hope following years of misery under Farhad Moshiri.

There will be natural early optimism around Everton following a big result on the weekend against a Chelsea side who are flying in the league.

The Friedkin Group were in attendance for Everton vs Chelsea on Sunday with fans handed a chance to put on an electric atmosphere.

Having struggled in the opening stages of the campaign, Sean Dyche’s side will be eyeing Premier League survival ahead of their stadium move over the summer.

And Dyche has already felt change since the Everton takeover with more stability being promised by the new regime.

However, Everton fans have now been sent a warning from their Roma counterparts over the American ownership.

Roma fans share The Friedkin Group warning to Everton

The Friedkins are expected to make ‘ruthless’ decisions at Everton as they are expecting their investment to return results.

One of those decisions could well be regarding the future of Dyche with the new owners no stranger to changing managers at Roma.

Speaking on the Monday Night Club, journalist James Horncastle has highlighted some of the frustrations coming out of Rome towards the Friedkins.

“They bring in Daniele de Rossi because it’s the only way to keep the fans on side, because [Jose] Mourinho had become like an emperor in Rome. De Rossi does initially really well. They say, ‘okay, you’re not interim boss anymore’. Three-year deal. Spend 100 million in the summer when people are like, ‘how can you this?’ And then they sack him three games into the season,” said Horncastle.

“And that was a kind of Rubicon moment where results have started to improve under Claudio Ranieri. But for the fans, it seems to them like we’ve seen through you. We know what you’re about now, and we don’t trust you.”

“That’s the issue for the Friedkins. I would say for Everton, fans, it feels like sometimes they’ve got more money than sense in that they’ll spend loads of money with noble intentions, whether there’s a plan behind it or good strategy behind it, you’ll have to wait and see.”

Dyche has claimed the Friedkins support him having spoken to their main representative, Marc Watts, last week following the takeover.

But it seems as if there may be more to worry about from an Everton point of view with clear concerns over the Friedkins’ planning for the future.

The Friedkin Group’s Roma relationship forming cracks

Just a couple of years on from winning the Europa Conference League, there are some serious issues needing to be dealt with at Roma.

The Friedkins were furious with Roma’s recent loss to Como just the other week as the Italian giants struggle in Serie A.

What may also prove a concern to some Everton fans is how their new owners are going to manage two underperforming clubs at the same time.

It has already been suggested the Friedkins could ‘surprise’ a few in the January transfer window but they are going to have to be wary of the club’s PSR concerns.
