Manchester United are expected to be fairly quiet in January but one potential Premier League sale will spark interest inside Old Trafford.
As if there was any doubt, we can confidently say that Ruben Amorim has an enormous job ahead of him at Manchester United.
United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon summed up just how poor this United side is right now.
There has barely been a managerial bounce to speak of with Amorim winning just two of his six Premier League games so far.
Amorim deserves time, patience and funds in the transfer market to turn United around and challenge once again.
United spent more than £180million on summer signings though and major January signings are very unlikely.

Manchester United sell-on clause could pay off
United may look to ship out some players in January with the transfer window offering an opportunity to raise some funds.
Money could also come in through sell-on clauses with United careful to add those agreements in recent years.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Midfielder Andreas Pereira is a prime example as the midfielder departed Old Trafford in 2022.
United sold Pereira to Fulham for £10million with another £3million obtainable through certain add-ons.
The Brazilian simply had to leave United for first-team chances and he has thrived at Craven Cottage.
United slapped a 20% sell-on clause in Pereira’s exit and could now see that clause pay off in January.
Brazilian reporter Vene Casagrande claims that Palmeiras have now offered €20million (£16.5million) for Pereira.
Palmeiras may go as high as €22million (£18.25million) for Pereira but the ball is now in Fulham’s court.
“Palmeiras offered Fulham 20 million euros for Andreas Pereira. If the English team does not accept, Verdão has “available” another 2 million euros to increase the offer. In other words, the São Paulo club’s financial limit in this operation is 22 million euros, around 140 million reais at today’s exchange rate,” said Casagrande.
“Negotiations are underway, and Palmeiras counts on the will of Andreas Pereira, who liked the project presented by Verdão and gave approval for the agents to move forward with the negotiations,” he added.
Andreas Pereira price tag may have dipped
Pereira has been in and out of the Fulham side of late and may now leave the Premier League for a return to Brazil.
A loan spell at Flamengo during his United days worked well for Pereira and he may now head there permanently.
United could take 20% of that £16.5million fee, which will be around £3.3million if based on the total fee and not just profit.
This may be a frustration for United though as Pereira was valued at a much higher price just a few months ago.
Chelsea wanted Pereira for £35million over the summer and United would have been raking in around £7million.
Pereira is unlikely to move for that price now and United will have to accept that the value of this sell-on clause isn’t quite as exciting as it was before the season.
