Leicester City are set to face off with Liverpool in their 2025 Boxing Day clash.
The odds are firmly stacked against Ruud van Nistelrooy and co. as they prepare to make the trip to Anfield on December 26th.
Liverpool, who head into Christmas sat top of the division, have won their last seven Premier League games played on Boxing Day.
Leicester City, meanwhile, have won just one of their last 10 Boxing Day matches in the English top flight.
That victory did come against Manchester City, but it would take something of a miracle for that result to be repeated this week.
Leicester were beaten 3-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers in their most recent fixture and now sit just two points above the relegation zone.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have lost just one league game all season while boasting the joint-best attack and joint-best defence in the Premier League.

Ruud van Nistelrooy confirms Jamie Vardy could miss Liverpool vs Leicester City
Ahead of the meeting with Liverpool, Van Nistelrooy held his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dutchman discussed a number of topics in the presser, including providing a team news update.
And rather concerningly, when asked if Leicester had any fresh injuries to contend with, Ruud confirmed Jamie Vardy has a problem and there’s a chance he will miss the Liverpool meeting, as per Leicestershire Live.
He said: “We have to address Jamie. He picked up some knocks. We have to see if he’s ready on Thursday. I don’t want to share on personal medical updates on players. Hopefully we will be fine, but if not, it will be short-term.”

Leicester City options to replace Jamie Vardy vs Liverpool
Vardy has received high praise from Jermain Defoe and others for his form this season.
He is currently the club’s top scorer with six goals and three assists in 16 league outings so losing the Englishman for any period of time would be a big blow.
At present, Leicester have three natural replacements in their squad for the skipper but none of them have played especially well or scored an awful lot in 2024/25.
Patson Daka has one goal in five outings, Odsonne Edouard is yet to score in the Premier League since his summer loan and Jordan Ayew has three league goals in 16 outings.
Van Nistelrooy has praised Daka since his arrival in the dugout and he seems the most likely candidate to replace Vardy if he does miss out.
