Barcelona have confirmed Ferran Torres has been sidelined with a fresh injury following the weekend’s match with Atletico Madrid.
The forward has only recently returned from an injury lay-off but now faces more time out of action.
Here's the club's statement:
“Ferran Torres ended Saturday’s game with a muscle issue.
"As the problem has not gone away, the player today underwent magnetic resonance and a small injury to his soleus has been detected, meaning he will be unavailable until the injury has healed."
Ferran has five goals and two assists for Barcelona this season but now joins fellow attacker Lamine Yamal on the sidelines.
It’s not known yet how much time Ferran will miss but early reports suggest he could be back in time for the Spanish Super Cup.
Barcelona are due to play Barbastro first in the Copa del Rey but then take on Athletic in Saudi Arabia on January 8.
