It was not long ago that Ferran Torres made a return from a spell on the sidelines due to an injury. The Spaniard had been in good form in the final few matches for Barcelona in 2024.
However, as the club confirmed earlier today, the Spanish international has suffered a fresh injury setback during Saturday’s game against Atletico Madrid.
“The first team player Ferran Torres finished last Saturday’s match with some muscle discomfort. Given the persistence of these discomforts, an MRI was performed today which determined that he has a small injury to the soleus of his right leg,” the statement from the club read.
“His evolution will determine his availability.”

This comes as a bitter blow for Ferran considering that he had been in good nick although the fact that Barça are currently on their mid-season break means he will not be missing many games.
In fact, as per SPORT, the Spanish forward is expected to miss only the first game of the new year, which will be against UD Barbastro in the Copa del Rey Round of 32.
The belief is that the former Manchester City man will be fit and available in time for the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic Club on January 8 in Saudi Arabia.
