Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a midfielder in the upcoming winter transfer window, with the Lilywhites looking to bring in a fresh face in the position as Ange Postecoglou eyes more depth and quality in the middle of the park with Chelsea maestro Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The Australian head coach has been screaming to secure a player who can grind in the midfield while being a creative outlet for the North Londoners. Daniel Levy did try to bring in Conor Gallagher for the past couple of summer transfer windows in order to cement the needs; however, with the American businessman not being able to conclude the deal for the England international, Tottenham has to move on to other alternatives with the Lilywhites eyeing another Blues midfielder.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – Struggling at Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur will expedite signing a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window.
Will Daniel Levy get Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the January transfer window?
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been a frustrating figure in the midfield at Stamford Bridge after struggling to find minutes under his belt after moving to West London from Leicester City with Enzo Maresca.
While the Englishman followed the Italian to Chelsea in a £30m transfer, the opportunities have been limited, and Chelsea’s boss was quizzed about whether the 26-year-old will move clubs in the upcoming winter transfer window. Maresca couldn’t rule out a possible exit, saying (via. GMS)
“Unfortunately, I can’t say he won’t leave because anything can happen. I am not focused on January. We are very happy with the way he is working and his performance. We don’t want one of our players to leave. With Kiernan, it’s a question for him. If a player says he is not happy and wants to play more, we are not going to say you have to stay. We are happy with Kiernan, and then in January we will see.”
The report by Give Me Sport further states that the West Londoners will only sanction a move for the midfielder if he pushes for a possible exit. Chelsea will be more happy to let the player leave on a potential loan deal for him to garner a bit of minutes under his belt; however, if any bid were to arrive that would match the price they paid for Dewsbury-Hall, they would be more than happy to sanction a permanent exit.
