Chelsea will'look to sell'youngster that Enzo Maresca'likes'in January unless one key thing changes - journalist

It’s been encouraging for Chelsea supporters to see plenty of their youngsters get opportunities in the first-team squad this season, but one rising star has just been linked with a potential transfer exit in the New Year.

The Chelsea academy has helped produce some outstanding talents over the years, which is a trend that’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George have both been officially promoted from the Blues academy to the senior group this month. Incidentally, Chelsea view Acheampong’s new contract as a big statement.

The promotion of two players should certainly serve as a big encouragement to the rest of the young stars at Cobham.

Enzo Maresca, the senior Chelsea manager, has done a superb job of turning the team into potential title contenders in such a short space of time. The fact that he’s done so while also not overlooking the importance of the academy is extremely pleasing.

Chelsea looking to sell Harvey Vale in January

Respected journalist Simon Phillips has claimed via Substack that Chelsea will be looking to sell Harvey Vale in January unless there’s a sudden twist.

He’s explained that Maresca does like the 21-year-old youngster, playing him in two Conference League matches this season.

However, Vale’s current deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 2025, which means the club will look to sell him in January unless something changes and he gets a contract extension.

Who’s interested in Harvey Vale?

Vale has impressed in Chelsea’s youth sides across several years during his development. Also, the versatile left-footer enjoyed a superb season-long loan spell with Bristol Rovers in League One last season.

Therefore, it’s not a great surprise to hear the Englishman does have potential suitors for 2025.
