In-form Barcelona forward set to be sidelined for three weeks with new injury

FC Barcelona have not been doing well in La Liga, and their recent run has been rather disastrous. Both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, have been gaining momentum and have already overtaken La Blaugrana in the league. With that lead at the top now blown, Barcelona desperately need to wake up.

However, if the club was thinking that this holiday season would allow them to get some rest and clear up their building tension without any additional worries, they were wrong. Bad news continues to follow Barcelona wherever they go, and these holidays are no exception.

According to AS, Spanish forward Ferran Torres has now become the latest addition to the list of Barcelona players currently sidelined due to injury. In his particular case, the Spaniard has recently suffered a minor tear in the soleus muscle of his right leg as per the findings from a recent MRI examination.

This particular injury comes at a bad time for Ferran Torres, who was finally enjoying a good run of form. In fact, he had already managed to achieve his best scoring streak since joining Barcelona in his last few games this season.

However, the expectation now is that the 24-year-old Barcelona forward will remain sidelined for the next three weeks. As a direct consequence of that, he is likely to miss the upcoming Copa del Rey encounter against UD Barbastro, and it would be very unlikely to see him participate in the Spanish Super Cup against Athletic Club in Saudi Arabia.

Consequently, as a result of this injury, he is now the fifth casualty that Hansi Flick will have to keep in mind heading into the first game in January 2025. The likes of Lamine Yamal, Andreas Christensen, Marc Bernal, and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen are already sidelined with different injury problems.
