One Arsenal star is keen to return to his former club next year. Gunners are also ready to part ways with him and even tried doing so this summer. The deal will be in best interest for both clubs along with the player himself.
The star in question here is Kiernan Tierney. The Scotland international moved to North London from Celtic in 2019. He had very good opening 4 seasons to his chapter in England. But, it all changes last year.
Tierney was sent on season long loan last season to Real Sociedad. He played just 26 games for Spanish clubs as he missed some games due to injury. Upon returning to England, he was made available for the summer window.
Despite Gunners wanting to part ways with Tierney, no club made move as the Scotland international was injured. But, now it looks like a move will happen next year as the 27 year old is surely moving away from the Emirates.
Arsenal star to return to his former club?
According to Football Insider, Tierney is keen to return to Celtic. There were some reports about Celtic making moves to sign their former full back. Gunners may even force this move in January as the player will be out of contract at the end of the season.
This deal seems like a good option for both clubs along with the player. Arsenal will open space to sign another player whereas Celtic will have a quality full back joining them. They will be eager to reunite Brendon Rogers with his former player.
Lastly, Tierney will get regular game time at Celtic as he will be an upgrade over the current stars. The 27 year old is in peak of his career and will like to play regularly which will increase his chances of playing for national team as well.
