Vitor Pereira has been speaking to the media ahead of Wolves’ next Premier League game against Manchester United.
Wolves take on the Red Devils on Boxing Day, and confidence will be high going into the game after the brilliant 3-0 win over Leicester City.
Vitor Pereira got off to the perfect start on Sunday at the King Power Stadium, with Wolves much improved in his first game following the sacking of Gary O’Neil.
Goncalo Guedes, Rodrigo Gomes and Matheus Cunha were all on target, and it was just a much more assured performance overall from Wolves.
Guedes was one of the stars of the show against Leicester, and today, Pereira spoke about the Portuguese forward and suggested what he needs to do to make himself a regular.

Guedes’ redemption arc has been one of the most interesting aspects of Wolves’ season so far.
No one expected him to stay in the summer, after he’d spent time away from the club on loan at Benfica and Villarreal.
But O’Neil reintegrated Guedes into the squad, which Pereira will surely be pleased about. Against Leicester, Guedes took his goal contribution tally up to nine for the season.

Guedes now has more goal contributions in the league than Marcus Rasford and Diogo Jota, but Pereira says it’ll be working for the team that will earn him regular starter status.

He said (via Wolves official): “I can give him confidence, for sure. I can increase the tactical skills, and he needs to know that to play with me he must run, he must fight.
“He must work for the team, not only for himself. This is for him and for everybody. I want to let the players express themselves, but working for the team, simple.
Wolves need Guedes to step up with Cunha ban imminent
Guedes’ contributions this season have been most welcome, and very unexpected.
But currently, he is one of Wolves’ most key players with the way he’s making an impact in the final third despite limited minutes.
He should have played much more under O’Neil.
But Pereira gave him the show of faith against Leicester and it’s up to him now to keep the shirt.
Cunha will soon be banned by the FA after they charged him with misconduct, and Wolves will need Guedes to step up in the Brazilian’s absence.
Given his goal contributions rate this season, fans will have every faith in him to do that. Hopefully, though, he will heed the advice given by Pereira about working hard for the team.
In fairness, Guedes’ work rate has been good this season.
