Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is an injury doubt for the Premier League clash against Liverpool on Boxing Day
Leicester City have two major injury concerns at either end of the pitch heading into the Boxing Day Premier League clash against Liverpool. The Foxes visit Anfield for the 8pm kick-off as the Reds look to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
Arne Slot’s side came out as 6-3 winners against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon. It leaves them four points clear of Chelsea in second, and with a game in hand, having lost just one match so far this campaign.
Leicester, meanwhile, sit in 17th place in the table, two points clear of Ipswich in 18th position. They fell to a disappointing 3-0 home defeat against relegation rivals Wolves on Sunday.

Ahead of the game, new manager Ruud van Nistelrooy provided an update on the fitness of his squad. Leicester have been without first choice goalkeeper Mads Hermansen for the last game-and-a-half due to a groin injury, with his replacement Danny Ward coming under criticism from fans after conceding six goals in 135 minutes of football.
“We’re assessing every day with Mads,” Van Nistelrooy said in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, via LeicestershireLive. “Jakub [Stolarczyk, last season’s second choice] is back and is fit and is available. We’ll make decisions in the coming days.
“Jakub, he’s been playing in the Under-21s, his training and development continues. With the busy schedule, we have options. First we’ll find out with Mads, what his situation is and whether he will be playing on Thursday, whether it’s possible, and then we’ll assess what will be the best thing for Thursday.”
The Leicester boss also revealed an injury concern over striker Jamie Vardy. The 37-year-old picked up a knock in the closing stages of the defeat against Wolves.
“We have to address Jamie. He picked up some knocks,” van Nistelrooy added. “We have to address it today and tomorrow to see if he’s ready on Thursday.
“I don’t want to share on personal medical updates of players. Hopefully he will be fine, but if not, it will be short term.”
Vardy remains first choice for Leicester this season, he has scored six times in his 16 appearances so far this campaign. If he is not deemed fit enough to play, then he is expected to be replaced by Patson Daka.
