La Liga giants Barcelona have this week been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that attacker Ferran Torres is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Frontman Ferran for his part was introduced off the bench over the weekend, as Barcelona were condemned to a damaging league defeat at the hands of Atlético Madrid.
And, across his cameo, the former Manchester City man picked up an injury problem.
As per a report from **[Diario AS](https://as.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/ferran-torres-se-une-a-la-lista-de-bajas-del-barca-n/)**, ‘Ferran Torres underwent tests this morning which confirmed that he has a small tear in the soleus muscle of his right leg’.
The 24-year-old is now expected to be sidelined for a spell of around three weeks, ruling him out of next month’s Copa del Rey meeting with Barbastro, and throwing Ferran’s participation in the Spanish Sup Cup into doubt, too.
Barcelona have themselves since confirmed the news, albeit with the Blaugrana’s [statement](https://x.com/FCBarcelona/status/1871529447066935370) having not provided a definitive idea of Ferran’s comeback timetable.
