Bayern Munich prepared to go all out for Barcelona winger target in 2025

Nico Williams continues to be a player that FC Barcelona admire and want to sign after having missed out on his services in the summer of 2024.

The Athletic Club and Spain winger continues to be a priority option for the Blaugrana as long as he does not sign a new contract and his release clause amount does not increase.

However, competition for the 22-year-old’s services continues to grow with clubs in England and Germany taking a keen interest in the Spaniard.

Bayern ready to go all out

As reported on Monday, Nico Williams is set to be a target for Bayern Munich next summer.

Now BILD (h/t SPORT) has not only confirmed the news but also revealed that the German giants are determined to pursue the player with full force.

Indeed, the Bavarians are already well aware of the player’s contract details and the exact buyout clause and will go all out in their attempt to convince the winger, who is still on Barcelona’s radar.

Bayern Munich are looking to strengthen their flanks due to some expected departures. The plan is not to renew Leroy Sane’s contract, which is set to expire, and to sell Kingsley Coman, who could be heading to Saudi Arabia.

The Germans had pinned their hopes on signing Florian Wirtz, but the German international is expected to stay at Bayer Leverkusen for at least another season and a half.

As a result, Nico has moved up to the top of their list, and Bayern have already started working on the transfer.

Indeed, the record German champions have decided to go after Nico following an initial approach, although they are aware that this will be a complicated transfer.

The UEFA Euro 2024 winner is likely to have other offers while Athletic Club are still determined to extend his contract, with negotiations ongoing.

Barcelona remain interested and the player has shown signs of being open to a move, though the Catalan club will not make any premature moves. If he wishes to join, he will need to make it clear and facilitate a smooth exit.
