Aston Villa gem Louie Barry will likely be on the move again in January.
Barry has made a big impact on loan at Stockport County this season, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in 21 League One matches. As a result, Villa recently confirmed via their official X account [22 December] that the striker would be recalled in January.
As part of this transfer decision, the Villans took a shot at local rivals Birmingham City.
However, according to ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – the 21-year-old could end up at St Andrew’s next month.
“If he isn’t going to be playing regularly at Villa, it is no good having him just training with the first-team squad and sitting on the bench,” King said.
“There will certainly be a Championship club who want to take him, that is for sure, and I’d imagine it might be one of those in the top five. Perhaps Villa could agree a deal with West Brom, or even another League One side, Birmingham City are going well.

“It is whether a Villa player would be prepared to join Birmingham. However, I’d imagine a Leeds, Burnley or Sheffield United would be looking at the situation if they could take him on loan.”
Aston Villa gem Louie Barry to join Birmingham City on loan in January?
There has been a lot of speculation over Barry’s future in the West Midlands, which in turn has led to speculation over Ollie Watkins’ future.
However, for now, it feels as though the best course of action for Barry would be to head out on loan again in January to continue his development. Birmingham City are top of League One and competing for promotion, which could be a good experience for Barry.

However, if a Championship club steps forward, particularly one near the top of the table as King has suggested, that would be the much better move, and it would also save Barry the headache of playing for Villa’s local rivals.
