Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…
Reporter Iomie Stanley believes Angel Gomes would be a ‘superb’ signing for ARSENAL and admits he ‘can see’ the new England star signing for the Gunners in the next couple of transfer windows.
The 24-year-old spent almost a decade at Manchester United’s academy but only made ten appearances for the first-team before being sold in 2020 after he decided that he needed to leave the club in order to further his career
Lille immediately sent Gomes out on loan but the midfielder has racked up more than 100 appearances for the French side over the past three seasons and has now fully established himself as one of the most exciting young players in the French League.
Gomes’ form has left Manchester United fans wondering why they let him go and now Stanley has tipped him for a return to the Premier League, but has claimed that it could be ARSENAL that he eventually ends up at.
‘I think Angel Gomes would fit in at Arsenal superbly,’ he told icfootballnews ‘His qualities are clear to see, he’s a very good link-up player and could help fill the void that is being left by Bukayo Saka because of those injuries
‘He’s got a lot of potential and although there will be plenty of clubs looking at him, he could be a very good signing for Arsenal.

Many believe that Man United made a mistake by letting Gomes leave the club – he was a very exciting talent. But the decision to leave the Premier League giants was the right one to make.
He is playing beautiful football and developing very nicely and that is why all the big clubs are taking an interest. So if he carries on performing well and impressing, then yes he could end up signing for ARSENAL.
But he may not need too as he is getting everything he needs right now.
ARTETA TOLD SIGN DURAN
ARSENAL boss Mikel Arteta has been urged to ‘take a chance’ on Premier League star Jhon Duran following his superb start to the season for Aston Villa and solve a real problem for the club in the coming transfer windows.

Duran, who was linked with Chelsea and West Ham over the summer, has scored 12 goals in 25 appearances so far this season, helping Villa continue their impressive form after they finished fourth last term.
Stanley says the Gunners are still lacking an ‘outstanding number nine’ and believes Duran would be an ideal addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad, although it may be difficult to get the striker signed in the January window.
Duran has started the last few games for Aston Villa because of his impressive performances for the club, so he is now firmly establishing himself as the first choice option for Unai Emery and a man that could lead that attack for years.
Asked who he thinks Arsenal should try and sign, Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘I think the Gunners should make a tempting offer to sign Duran from Aston Villa..
‘He looks a real handful and a bit different from the rest. He’s got that good presence about him. Arsenal take a chance on him, he looks like the real deal and a player that could develop into of the best forwards in the Premier League.
‘What I look for is people who are hungry, and he’s got that. In terms of the big boys, ARSENAL haven’t got an outstanding No. 9 and needs to make sure that they improve that department in January or at the end of the season
‘I also like Alexander Isak, he would be another good option for the Gunners to sign, I was really impressed with his performance against Ipswich at the weekend, he looks a handful. You can’t just go by one game, but he looks a threat.’
ARSENAL STILL WORKING ON PARTEY DEAL
ARSENAL are still working hard on contract negotiations with midfielder Thomas Partey after both the club and the Ghanaian international turned down a potential move to Saudi Arabia during the summer transfer window.

Partey’s current deal is due to expire in 2025 and discussions over a possible extension at the Emirates did not happen over the summer as many believed that he would get that move away from the Premier League giants.
The Ghana international was limited in his starts for the club last season because of injury, and there were mane reports that Arsenal were deciding whether to cash in on the player in the summer or risk losing him on a free transfer in just over a year’s time.
But according to Fichajes – after deciding to keep Partey at the club during the summer window, talks were opened over a new contract a few weeks ago and talks are still progressing before the opening of the January window.
He is expected to be offered a two-year contract extension, which would keep him at the Emirates until the age of 33. Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff are reportedly strong supporters of Partey and are eager to keep him as a key part of their squad as they continue to challenge for Premier League success.

When Partey is fit – he is a very solid addition to that squad – but he is never fit anymore and the Gunners need to get rid.
He has a good start to the new season – and to be honest, if he is able to stay fit for the rest of the season, he is a very good player to have in the side because he offers the side soo much.
And if ARSENAL can get him to sign a new contract, at least they could get some money in the summer if he wants out.
