Nico Williams was very close to becoming a Barcelona player this past summer until the forward made a late decision to continue at Athletic Club for another year.
But as we near 2025, Nico’s future is becoming a talking point and it won’t be surprising to see the forward being subjected to a move away from Bilbao once again next summer.
Barcelona, for their part, appear to have retained interest in Nico and could weigh up a move in the summer of 2025. However, the club are set to face stiff competition.
PSG and Bayern join race to sign Nico
According to Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain are ready to battle it out with Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the race to sign Nico next summer.
The French champions have entered the race to sign the Spanish international, who is regarded as one of the most young wingers in Europe.
Bayern’s interest is particularly significant as the Bavarians are desperately looking for reinforcements in the offensive unit.

This comes in the wake of uncertainty over the future of Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman.
PSG, meanwhile, are also looking for attacking reinforcements and more importantly, have the cash to burn.
Both clubs could pose a significant threat to Barcelona, in the Catalans’ attempt to sign Nico next summer, especially due to their economic firepower.
In contrast, Barça are still struggling with their finances and may require the sale of some key first-team stars in order to afford a move for Nico next summer.
The Blaugrana remain confident as well and are ready to convince Nico one more time. They believe the Spaniard could be an important strategic signing that could help the club truly strengthen the squad next season.
