Report: European side earmark £26m Everton player as their top target for £3m January loan deal

The Everton takeover has been completed just in time with the January transfer window just days away.

It has been a promising start for The Friedkin Group on Merseyside with a solid point secured on the weekend against Chelsea.

Sean Dyche has been handed the Friedkins’ support with CEO Marc Watts meeting the Everton boss last week.

Although there has been cause for optimism of late, with some improved results in their last three outings, the Toffees aren’t exactly where they would like to be.

January could offer the Friedkins an opportunity to bolster their side, but it could also see a number of players head out.

Torino make Everton striker Beto their top priority

Everton could see some changes made up top over the coming weeks, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin receiving interest as his contract dwindles down.

However, he is not the only striker who could be heading for the door at Goodison Park.

According to TuttoSport, Serie A outfit Torino have now made Beto their top priority for the January transfer window.

The out-of-favour £26m Beto could be heading towards a temporary departure from Merseyside with Torino keen on a loan deal.

It is claimed the Turin-based side are looking to offer Everton a loan fee in the region of (€4m) £3m with his wages on top.

Juventus have also shown interest in Beto ahead of January, as the striker’s lack of game time has sparked serious questions over his future.

Sean Dyche needs to change striker vs Manchester City

Beto has failed to make his claim in Everton’s starting XI despite Calvert-Lewin receiving criticism in recent weeks.

With Everton failing to score in either of their last two games, perhaps it is time for Dyche to mix things up ahead of the January transfer window.

Armando Broja is chomping at the bit for an Everton opportunity, having now made his return from the injury which has kept him out for months.

Calvert-Lewin has only returned two goals across 16 Premier League appearances this season.

Clearly, it is not working with the Englishman up top, and the game at the Etihad on Boxing Day could be the perfect opportunity to change things up in attack.
