Tottenham plotting move for Barcelona’s South American prospect

Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a move for the services of Barcelona attacking sensation Vitor Roque.

Tottenham are interested in the services of Brazilian youth international Vitor Roque. The North London club are always on the lookout for players who can help their cause and they feel the Barcelona striker could be a perfect fit for their system.

According to a report from SPORT, Spurs are considering making a move for the 19-year-old. They recently scouted in during a game and are believed to be quite impressed with what they have seen.

Roque made quite a name for himself while playing for Brazilian club Athletico Paranaense. His performances had placed him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Barcelona pushed hard and managed to secure his services at the start of 2024.

Unfortunately, the move didn’t really work out as Xavi wasn’t really a fan of the teenager. While the Spanish manager left the club in the summer, there wasn’t really a place for Roque on Hansi Flick’s team, as a result, the Catalan giants were looking to send him out on loan.

Some of the biggest clubs in Europe came knocking on their doors but the player as well as the club decided that it would be best for him if he ended up joining another Spanish club. Eventually, he made the move to Real Betis on loan.

He has been a regular starter for Betis and has eight goal contributions in his 23 outings. Roque has put in quite a few impressive performances and his work hasn’t gone unnoticed. Tottenham are one of the clubs who seem to be interested in the teenager.

Tottenham want to sign Vitor Roque

Representatives of the North London club recently travelled to Villamarin to keep an eye on Johnny Cardoso and they even asked for information about the Brazilian youth international. Their scouts were in the stands during Betis’ 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano and they were impressed with what they saw from Roque who bagged an assist.

Spurs want to add more firepower to their attack. With Son Heung-min and Richarlison’s future uncertain, the Barcelona sensation could be a great long-term acquisition. While he is on loan at Betis, they do have a buy option worth €25 million that will grant them 80% of the player’s rights.

Betis could trigger that option and then sell him to the Premier League outfit to book a profit for themselves. While Spurs are keen on his signature, a potential transfer looks quite complicated.
