Tim Sherwood has ‘changed his mind’ about the Premier League title race as Chelsea and Arsenal chase leaders Liverpool.
Liverpool have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the table and could pull even further clear if they win their game in hand.
Some pundits predicted a turbulent season for the Reds following the departure of legendary manager Jurgen Klopp, but Liverpool look even more impressive under Arne Slot, losing just once in the Premier League and amassing 39 points from 16 games.
Liverpool’s nearest rival is currently Chelsea, who have defied expectations to emerge as genuine title contenders, scoring more goals than any Premier League team this season.
The Blues are two points ahead of London rivals Arsenal, who are looking to mount yet another title challenge after pushing Manchester City close over the past two years.
Only last week Sherwood named Arsenal as his ‘favourites’ to win the Premier League, but he has ‘change his mind’ after watching Liverpool ‘dismantle’ Tottenham at the weekend.
‘Everything is looking perfect for Liverpool at the moment,’ Sherwood said on Premier League Productions.

‘I tipped Arsenal to win the Premier League, but I watched them [Liverpool] and I have to change my mind.
‘I’m allowed to change my mind, aren’t I? Watching them dismantle Tottenham, they look sensational right now.’
Speaking after Liverpool’s emphatic win over Spurs, ex-Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville said Slot’s side were the ‘clear favourites’ for the title.
‘Liverpool are clearly the best team in the Premier League at this moment in time,’ Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast.

‘They’re the clear favourites for the title. Man City’s drop-off has been spectacular, I’m not sure anyone really knows how it’s gone so badly wrong.
‘Chelsea had a tough game today but they’re doing well and having a good season.
‘I think the one team Liverpool need to watch are Arsenal if they can get their tail up and close that gap going in March and April.
‘But at this moment in time Liverpool are clear favourites. I think the biggest risk for them is injuries – if they were to lose Van Dijk and Salah that would hurt them.
‘Van Dijk is like Rodri for Liverpool, he holds it all together. Keeping him fit is absolutely crucial.
‘There’s some big challenges coming up so we’re nowhere near the point that you can hand Liverpool the title but they’re in a great position and at this moment in time they’re by far the best team in the league and the table tells us that.’
Premier League leaders Liverpool play host to Leicester City on Boxing Day, while second-placed Chelsea take on west London rivals Fulham and Arsenal face Ipswich Town.
