Chelsea tipped to complete Viktor Gyokeres transfer and Trent Alexander-Arnold surprise deal

Chelsea go into Christmas Day sitting second in the Premier League table after an impressive start under Enzo Maresca.

The Blues entered 2024/25 full of uncertainty after another hectic summer transfer window. Eyebrows were also raised over Maresca's appointment with the Italian's only experience of managing in English football coming at Leicester City in the Championship.

But Chelsea have defied expectations with the Blues currently in a title race with Liverpool and Arsenal. There is now genuine belief in West London that they could go on to lift a first league title since 2017.

Maresca's side currently sit four points off league leaders Liverpool, having played a game more than Arne Slot's side. The Blues are next in action at home to London rivals Fulham on Boxing Day (kick-off: 3pm) before travelling to relegation strugglers Ipswich Town four days later.

However, to improve their chances of lifting silverware in 2025, Chelsea will need to strengthen in the January transfer window. Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, as well as Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford, have been among the names linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

A look into the bookmakers' odds can sometimes give an insight into what transfers could be in the pipeline. With that in mind, we've taken a look at the odds to see who Chelsea are being backed to sign in January.
