Liverpool's impressive season goes on with a 6-3 win over Tottenham on Sunday. The result moved the Reds four points clear of Chelsea, who could only draw 0-0 with Everton at Goodison Park.

The Reds will now be top of the Premier League table on Christmas day and have a chance to cement their position with a home match against Leicester City on Boxing day.

So what next for Liverpool after such an impressive victory over Tottenham? Our LFC jury have their say...

Andrew Cullen (Widnes, @brothersred5) - Konate absence could soon be felt

Although Liverpool conceded three against Tottenham on Sunday, it is hard to be anything other than impressed with the systematic dismantling of Spurs. Perhaps the most impressive feature of the game was that the scoreline did not flatter Liverpool, and Tottenham fans will, deep down at least, be pleased that the scoreline did not jump from six.

We seem sharp with our passing and robust in our pressing. With the abundance of attacking talent at our disposal, it does feel like we have the most impressive squad in the Premier League, which perhaps explains our incredible start to the campaign.

If we are to continue our pursuit of major honours in the new year, it will be imperative to get Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley back fit and firing. Konate in particular has been an indispensable cog in the Slot machine this year, and whilst Gomez had a good game against Spurs, it feels like Konate’s absence may be felt more significantly if his spell away from the team is prolonged. Our attack and defence need to be on top form if we are to achieve domestic and European success this year.

It was pleasing to see Dominik Szoboszlai return to his former heights on Sunday against Spurs. His fast start to Premier League last year was met with a more languid end to it. This year, we have seen once again flashes of his talent, but to hold a place in the Liverpool midfield, he will need to show the consistency that he demonstrated in the first half of last season, especially given the renaissance of Curtis Jones.

James Noble (Worcestershire, @james_noble98) - Every reason to back ourselves and keep building

Top of the Premier League tree at Christmas is a good place to be. Such landmarks don’t come with silverware, of course, but it is another marker of Arne Slot’s side’s superb work this term.

It was a productive Sunday for the Reds. The lead over Chelsea being extended to four points was pleasing, but Liverpool’s display felt the most invigorating element. ‘Chaos’, ‘Christmas cracker’ and ‘Classic’ have all felt justifiable descriptions of the 6-3 win at Tottenham.

As Slot referenced, the first 60 minutes were especially pleasing. The performance brimmed with threat, incision and slickness, with a healthy helping of control. The grip on the game loosened in the latter stages, which Spurs’ unique approach deserves a degree of credit for, but that sixth goal – Luis Díaz’s second – was wonderfully timed and taken.

The Colombian was effervescent, Dominik Szoboszlai’s promising form hit fresh heights, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s quality broke another game open, while Mohamed Salah offered that familiarly relentless attacking output. Another game that provided clear sources of encouragement and points for improvement.

Already, Leicester’s Boxing Day visit is on the horizon, swiftly followed by Sunday’s trip to West Ham. As this division constantly reminds us, everyone poses a distinct threat, but we’ve every reason to back ourselves to boss and win both, and keep building on that lead.

Rhys Buchanan (Aigburth, @Rhys_Buchanan) - A further three points is absolutely vital

It always felt like Sunday’s fixture away at Spurs was a must-win, and the Reds delivered a big game performance once again. We saw some huge performances from the usual suspects in Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, but it was great to see Dominik Szoboszlai putting in a season-defining shift.

I think Arne Slot will be the first to play down any giddiness with the fixtures ahead bringing their own challenges. Anfield should be bouncing with festive cheer for the late kick-off against Leicester, a side who will be dogged and desperate to put things right after their disappointing home defeat against Wolves last week.

That being said, we have every reason to be confident heading into tonight’s game, a further three points feels absolutely vital as we look to keep table pressure on our nearest rivals.
