‘Reminds me of Rivaldo’ - Barca told what to expect from wonderkid Ibrahim Diarra

Barcelona have been told what to expect from new arrival Ibrahim Diarra who has arrived this winter and will play for Barca Atletic.

The [Mali wonderkid has arrived on a four-year deal](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/12/17/24323387/barcelona-confirm-signing-of-exciting-mali-starlet-ibrahim-diarra) and the club are believed to have high expectations of the young star.

Diarra’s coach for Mali’s Under-20 team Soumaila Coulibaly has offered some insight into the new signing.

> “He reminds me of Rivaldo or Lamine Yamal. Left-footers with similar characteristics. But he must make his way, of course. For me he is the greatest talent in Mali right now, without a doubt,” he told Sport.

>

> “He has had a classic profile as a Barça footballer for a long time. Left-footed, powerful, with good one-on-one and moves very well between the lines, between the defense, to break the game when the opponent is compact and crouched at the back. A situation that Barça often encounters.”

Coulibaly is also optimistic Diarra could even make his first-team debut this season.

> “It’s possible, I think his debut could happen. If he is physically fit he will be able to show many things and I am sure Flick is attentive,” he added.

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how Diarra gets on at Barcelona, and let’s hope he can fulfil his potential at the club.
